Citizens Advice Scotland has published their third annual report on the costs of burial and cremation in Scotland, showing that burial charges have inscreased by 8% in 2016 as compared with 2015, and cremation charges by 11% in the same period.
The postcode lottery nature of burial and cremation fees remains widespread across Scotland with burials varying by as much as £1,552 between the highest (Edinburgh) and the lowest (Western Isles). Cremation fees also vary across the couontry by as much as £382, with the most expensive being Dundee (privately operated) and least expensive in Inverclyde (Council run)
